Pilates
I fell in love with Pilates in the mid-80s while I was a dancer. During one of my classes, I became acutely aware of how my shoulders tended to rise due to a lack of abdominal strength. This realization led me to begin taking private sessions with Cary Regan, and since then, my journey with Pilates has never stopped. The method has transformed my physical abilities—making me stronger, more stable, and flexible—and has provided me with a profound understanding of movement.
I truly believe that Joe Pilates was a visionary. His method is just as relevant today as it was when he first developed it. I view Pilates as foundational, much like the scales in piano practice. Regardless of whether you play Beethoven, rock and roll, or jazz, consistent practice is essential, and I feel the same applies to Pilates as a means of efficiently and deliberately using our muscles—whether we are dancing, playing sports, or engaging in activities with our children or grandchildren.
Classes Offered
Pilates Group Classes
I lead Pilates mat group classes that focus not only on the Pilates method but also incorporate the MELT technique. My sessions are designed to enhance your core strength, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being. I utilize various tools like balls, bands, yoga blocks, and weights to keep the workouts engaging and enjoyable. My aim is for you to leave class feeling longer, stronger, and more centered, with improved posture and reduced aches and pains. Whether you are involved in tennis, running, dancing, skiing, gardening, or simply playing with your loved ones, my classes will help prepare your body for the activities you enjoy. Each class is 50 minutes long and costs $ 27.
Private Sessions
I believe that beginning with a few private sessions can be incredibly beneficial for getting to know your unique body, capabilities, and limitations. Together, we can develop a personalized workout plan that focuses on Pilates with the Reformer and the Cadillac, MELT, and functional movement, specifically tailored to your needs. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with clients of all ages and physical abilities. This includes individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries, as well as those with longstanding physical challenges. My goal is to instill hope and confidence in your body—helping you realize just how strong and capable you really are, while encouraging a joyful embrace of physical activity. Private sessions offer a wonderful alternative for anyone who may prefer individualized attention over group classes or has specific goals they wish to work on. The knowledge you gain during these sessions will empower you to confidently participate in group classes, ensuring that you understand how to practice both safely and effectively. Each session lasts for one hour, priced at $110, and I'm confident that together we can make a significant impact on your wellness journey.
